Since early
childhood I have been drawn to found objects and materials
that reflect a certain beauty solely from the object's decay from time. I
have been collecting these things as long as I can Remember. My
sculptures are generated from those found objects. Assembling
elements to create composition and symmetry, the continuous
theme that streams through my assemblages is the
Juxtaposition of these objects.
the past and the
present; the genial and the earnest; the spiritual and the material;
the sacred and the machine;
many pieces are
almost suggestive of a religious icon, and others
Are simply
portraits of a sentiment or mood expressed through the
collection of
objects. Often Humor is subtly suggested and is frequently
overlooked by the observer who is trying to find a deeper meaning
which is not necessarily there. |
